A bit about me……

I started Impact People Consulting as a way to combine my personal experience and my professional expertise.

I have been a working mum for 16 years, and became a working carer when my son was diagnosed with Type1 Diabetes – he was 4 years old. At 5 years old, I knew he had dyslexia and advocated to get him the support in school.

At 35, I became a carer for my husband when he was diagnosed with anaplastic oligodendroglioma – a life limiting and incurable form of brain cancer. Severe acquired brain injury and brain tumour related epilepsy accompanied this diagnosis. My husband’s health has deteriorated with each passing year and in May 2023 he moved into a specialist care home. I provided medical, personal and emotional care to a stranger, and lived life on their terms for almost 6 years.
Never underestimate the mental strength or skills of an unpaid carer.

I’m really proud of my Neurodivergence and celebrate the amazing abilities my Dyscalculia has given me.
I live with Migraines – an all consuming neurological condition that determines every aspect of my life.
I also live with Auditory Processing Disorder which affects how my brain processes sounds.
My disabilities do not define me, but they are much a part of who I am.
I have Depression and Anxiety.
I started Perimenopause at 39, and believe that it is never too early to educate. My son can tell you a lot about perimenopause!

It’s amazing how productive, creative and happy people can be when they just have to be themselves and no-one else.
